The world of defence simulation, education, and training (DSET) evolves rapidly with new technologies and methodologies continually challenging the status quo. At Pitch Technologies, we continuously aim to be at the forefront of these evolutions and are excited to announce our participation at the DSET event from 5th to 8th June 2023, in Bristol, UK.
This annual event offers a unique and invaluable opportunity for us to engage with other leaders in our industry, share insights, and explore new solutions that advance military training and simulation. Since its inception in 2016, DSET has consistently fostered military-to-military engagement and enabled the military to guide industry solutions with their specific challenges. This challenge-led approach has led to rich, focused discussions and the development of innovative solutions tailored to real-world needs.
This year, the event boasts a diverse programme spanning four days and four conferences. The agenda includes an industry showcase, a wargaming festival, focused conferences on various topics, and even a women’s action board meeting. As we prepare for DSET 2023, we reflect on the event’s primary objectives: fostering open community dialogue, connecting the military and the training and simulation industry, and driving innovation through military-led discussion and engagement. These goals align perfectly with our own at Pitch Technologies, and we are eager to contribute to the dialogue and learn from our industry colleagues throughout the week.
To contribute to the open discussions and dialogue, Pitch will be a part of several presentations throughout the week.
Virtual Industry Showcase
Pitch will host a virtual presentation as a part of the industry showcase sessions. Stay tuned for more details.
Pitch Café – British Army Land Training Test & Reference Capability (LTT&RC)
When Wednesday 7th June 15.30 – 16.00
Where Mezzanine
LTT&RC is a fundamental step towards the delivery of the Future Collective Training System and will provide technical assurance support to Army’s Collective Training Transformation Programme (CTTP) during the competition for the Strategic Training Partner and beyond. In this fireside chat we will be joined by Maj. Kevin Pyper, Maj. David Pearson and the industry-led service delivery team to discuss the case for LTT&RC and its role within FCTS. This will also be a fantastic opportunity to discuss industry ideas or put any questions to the team in an informal setting.
SISO Workshop – What’s new in HLA 4?
When Thursday 8th June 11.15-12:30 (presentation is a part of the SISO-workshop)
Where Mezzanine
HLA is an interoperability standard that meets a broad set of distributed simulation requirements. The standard is developed by SISO and IEEE and has been adopted by NATO and similar defense groups worldwide. Use cases range from training to analysis, test & evaluation, and concept development. The HLA standard is widely used in air, land, space, air traffic control and medicine domains, using a variety of evolving object models. Soon, the widely used HLA standard is set for a major upgrade with the introduction of HLA 4, an evolution providing exciting new features that pave the way for the next generation of M&S solutions and simulators. Join Björn Möller for a 20 minute introduction to what’s new in HLA 4, focusing on how this new standard will improve cloud-deployment, scalability and security.
